The Foundations is a 3-hour workshop at Material Source in Glasgow.

We’ll keep it relaxed, interactive, and practical:

• You’ll work on your own space
• Build a mood board
• Learn how to plan properly before you buy anything
• Get a feel for how designers make decisions

Bring along anything you have for the room you’re working on. We’ll ask you to focus on one space, along with any ideas or inspiration.

There are a few simple exercises - nothing heavy - just enough to get you thinking differently.

1. About Us

These Terms & Conditions apply to all tickets purchased for events, workshops, and courses delivered by John Amabile Design School, operated by John Amabile Design Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”).By purchasing a ticket, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Ticket Scope (What Your Ticket Includes)

Your ticket grants:

· Entry to the specified design school session, workshop, or event

· Participation in all scheduled activities for that session

· Any materials, resources, or refreshments explicitly stated in the event description

Tickets are:

· Valid for one person only

· Only valid for the date and time booked

· Non-transferable unless agreed in advance (see Section 5)

3. Booking & Payment

· Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place

· Your booking is only confirmed once payment has been successfully received

· Prices may be subject to booking or payment processing fees (e.g. PayPal/Stripe)

We reserve the right to:

· Refuse or cancel bookings at our discretion

· Limit the number of attendees per session (e.g. 20 seats maximum)

4. Cancellation, Changes & Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change — however, due to limited spaces:

Attendee Cancellations

· Cancellations made 7 days or more before the event may receive:

• A full refund OR
• A transfer to a future session (subject to availability)

· Cancellations made within 7 days of the event:

• Non-refundable
• Transfers may be offered at our discretion

Non-Attendance

· Failure to attend without prior notice = no refund or transfer

If We Cancel or Reschedule

If we need to cancel or reschedule an event:

· You will be offered:

• To rearrange subject to availability and mutual agreement

We are not responsible for additional costs (travel, accommodation, etc.).

5. Ticket Transfers

· Tickets may not be resold for profit

· Transfers to another person:

• Must be requested in advance
• Require our written approval

We reserve the right to refuse entry if ticket use breaches these terms.

6. Attendee Conduct

We are creating a positive, inspiring environment — so we ask that all attendees:

· Treat others with respect and professionalism

· Follow venue rules and safety guidance

· Engage constructively in sessions

We reserve the right to:

· Refuse entry

· Remove any attendee behaving in a disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate manner

No refund will be issued in these circumstances.

7. Health & Safety

· You are responsible for your own wellbeing during the event

· Please follow all instructions given by the host or venue

· Inform us in advance of any accessibility or support requirements where possible

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

· We are not liable for:

• Loss or damage to personal belongings
• Personal injury unless caused by our negligence

· Attendance is at your own risk

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it is unlawful to do so.

9. Photography, Video & Media Use

We may photograph or film during events for marketing and promotional purposes.

By attending, you agree that:

· Your image or likeness may be used in:

• Social media
• Marketing materials
• Website and promotional content

If you prefer not to be included:

· Please notify us in writing at least 48 hours before the event

10. Intellectual Property

All course content, materials, teaching methods and delivery are the intellectual property of John Amabile Design School Ltd.

Attendees may take limited still photographs and short video clips for personal use and for sharing on social media only, provided that john amabile design is clearly tagged or credited in all such content.

Filming or recording of full sessions, extended teaching segments, or any systematic capture of course content is strictly prohibited. Attendees must not reproduce, distribute, share, publish, or create derivative works from any part of the course content, whether for commercial purposes or otherwise.

By attending the course, participants agree to comply with these restrictions. John Amabile design reserves the right to require deletion of any content that breaches this clause.

11. Changes to Events

We reserve the right to:

· Adjust event content, schedule, or speakers if necessary

· Substitute elements where required while maintaining overall quality

12. Data Protection

Your personal information will be used:

· To manage your booking

· To communicate event details

We will not share your data with third parties without consent, except where required for event delivery.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland.

Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
